In today’s blog we will discuss why living in a metal building might be a great option for you.

Customizable

When it comes to living in a metal building, you can create any layout you want. The advantage of steel over wood structures is that steel is sturdy enough that you don’t need load-bearing walls. The exterior walls carry the weight of the structure allowing you to create whatever unique layout you want! This is why large industrial buildings like warehouses and airplane hangers are steel buildings; they don’t have to worry about interior walls taking up much needed space.

Not only doesn’t this create an advantage for initial design, but if you decide you want to change things up, it’s a lot easier to remodel than it would be if you had a wooden frame.

Maintenance

Wooden frames are susceptible to certain maintenance issues that you may not want to deal with. For example, termites could prove to be a real nuisance, or the wood may start to rot or split. When you make a steel building into your home, you won’t have to worry about those issues. To top it off, steel is also fire resistant.

If a metal building sounds like a good option for you and your family, contact JAG Metals LLC. We have more than 40 years of combined experience and we are qualified to give you the home you desire. Cost

Deciding to live in a metal building could actually save you money. Metal buildings only need a poured slab foundation which will save money on excavation costs. You can also save on engineering and labor costs due to the fact that metal buildings are easy to construct and most of the components have already been engineered.

Not only will you save on upfront costs, but you could also save in the long run, too. When your metal building is properly maintained, sealed, and constructed correctly, it can last for years. As mentioned above, you won’t have to worry about termite damage or rotting wood, so there is no reason why you can’t enjoy your steel structure home for a long time.

Should you decide to create a home out of a metal building, JAG Metals LLC is here to help! With our extensive experience, we have the skills and expertise to give the metal building of your dreams. Thanks for pointing out that steel buildings are fire resistant, and you won’t have to worry about termites as much as you would with wooden frames for houses. I am thinking of building a steel shed in my backyard and being able to save money by making a metal building sounds like a good deal to me. Perhaps it’s time I start talking with home builders about constructing with steel.

Metal is actually lighter compared to wood, brick, and concrete. You cannot absorb water that is why it cannot become a breeding ground for fungi. Metal is also rust-free and fire-resistant.

  • I like the fact that steel structures are metal resistant that don’t require much maintenance compared to other materials. I remembered when my mom was complaining about some termite infestation in the home. It caused her so much stress as she looked for various areas in the house where the termites could possibly hide. Knowing how convenient metal houses and structures for people, I can probably have one built for myself in my newly-bought land.

Great to know that, there could be homes that are completely made up of metal. This post brings so much of info regarding the cost, safety and maintenance of the homes. You can also save the cost of paiting and repair works. Very unique information. Thank you for sharing.

My uncle is planning to have a commercial building constructed in our neighborhood to house different businesses. There is not much choice in this town, so it really is exciting for me. I heard that he wants to use metal as the material for that building, and I wonder if it is a great choice. Thanks for helping me understand that using metal will reduce the risk of damages because, like you said, there is no reason to worry about termites and other pests when you have a steel building.

You got my attention when you said that metal buildings don’t rot and don’t get damaged by termites, so you can be sure that they can last for years. This is something that I will make sure to remember because I’m interested in constructing my custom home. It’s going to be my biggest investment, so I want to make sure that my custom home is durable and can withstand different conditions. I’ll make sure to find a metal building contractor soon.
