Corporate partner JAG Metals just wants to make kids happy

JAG Metals is a steel manufacturing company based in Weatherford, Texas. In just seven years’ time, the company expanded quickly, adding locations in Cleburne, Cresson, Gainesville, Springtown and Victoria, Texas, and growing from four employees to around 100.

“It’s been a wild ride,” said Justin Bradley, owner of JAG Metals. “I believe that a lot of our success comes from what we give. I don’t just say that; I truly believe that you get what you give. So it seems like the more we give, the more we get.”

JAG Metals began supporting Cook Children’s in 2019 as guests at a fundraiser benefiting our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The next year, they signed on to be an event sponsor for our Party on the Patio event benefiting our Child Study Center in 2022 and 2023.

“As crazy as it sounds,” Justin said, “every time we go do something, we have the best day the next day. So, if it’s a weekend event, that Monday blows up. If we go out on a Thursday night to an event, then Friday is a big day. It’s part of what makes JAG work. I look at it as a blessing.”

For JAG Metals, fundraising events are a way to support worthy causes, with the added blessing of driving new business. But they also serve another purpose.

“It’s important for our people to go [to fundraising events],” said Justin. “Not only do I think it helps them come together but also realize what our company goal is: not just to print steel, make steel and get it out of here, but also to give back.”

In 2022, JAG Metals expanded their support beyond special events when they became a sponsor for Wonderland, our holiday lights display.

“I don’t know what it would be like to have to be at the hospital,” said Justin. “But at least to be able to look out the window and see [the lights], that’s something. All of the medical stuff, I can’t help them with that, but to see Wonderland, any kid would like that.”
